As we reflect back on 2018, we take pause to acknowledge all the experiences the last year has bestowed upon us. We are grateful for the chances given that allowed us to meet new faces, as well as catch-up with old friends. As we say goodbye to the 2018 year and welcome 2019 with open arms, we, as a company, must challenge ourselves to a new year’s resolution. A resolution based on the knowledge and growth gained over the last 365 days.
Sounds easy enough….until you start to sit and think. The possibilities are endless. Each person within the company has grown exponentially over the last year, and the people, our people, make the D&D Bookkeeping Inc. what it is today. With that being said, instead of a generic companywide resolution, such as attaining exceptional customer service, we are going in a different direction. We are going to focus on ourselves, the staff, and attaining a manageable work-life balance.
Now hold on, you may be thinking what about your customers or what the heck is a work-life balance? Well, we truly believe if we have happy, cooperative, knowledgeable staff…… the rest falls into place! We will be building a better version of ourselves, empowering ourselves to service our customers exceptionally, and in all facets.
Nowadays, we live in a world where we are expected to do more, usually with less, under strict deadlines, and tremendous pressure. We are never truly able to separate our work from our home life, whether employed or self-employed. All to often, it is far to easy to pick up the phone and check the new email that just pinged, voicemail that chimed, or text message that just happen to pop up. Everyone should be able to shelter themselves in the comforts of home, wind down, and prepare for meeting tomorrow head on. All too often we are overtired and stressed, instead of refreshed, when the alarm starts blaring in the morning signaling for us to get our butts in gear for another day!
Now, we can’t give away our secrets as to how this will exactly be attained on company level, cause the truth of it is, we don’t know ourselves yet! This will be an on-going goal throughout 2019, evolving as the year progresses. Each of us is unique, with our own work style, family life, and social life. Yes, social life, you read that correctly. Somewhere deep in there, we all still have one or at the least yearn for one! What will work for one of us, may not work for the other. We can, however, agree to work with one another to make 2019 the best year yet for D&D! Our customers will reap the benefits ten-fold!
As they say, happy employees equal happy customers!
